Time of life

The unit of time for a live system is the breath.

Kalpas and Yuga's...

You might want to reference some Vedic philosophies and time systems. In the Vedic system, the universe lasts a 'Kalpa' - which is known to be one breath of Brahma. A kalpa then consists of 4 Yugas, according to them, we're supposed to be some..when - during the last Yuga of this Kalpa - the Kali Yuga.

Anyway ;) Enjoy.

Interesting. Google gave me this. In Hindu religion, a Prana is a breath. I remembered my Dune days, where the Bene Gesserit practiced Prana Bindu, an advanced form of muscular control.

n it makes perfect sense for a subjective existence that its unit of time should be variable n in itself subjective. but why isn't it a heartbeat?

why not heartbeat

I've heard the expression "the last breath" but not "the last hearbeat". That's what prompted this observation. But you're right, the heartbeat is another measure of time.
